A clean bathroom is essential for hygiene, comfort and the overall feel of your home. Whether you're doing a quick weekly clean or a thorough deep clean, following a systematic approach ensures you don't miss anything and get the best results.
What You'll Need
Before you start, gather your cleaning supplies so you're not running back and forth.
- Toilet brush and toilet cleaner
- Bathroom spray cleaner or disinfectant
- Microfibre cloths or sponges
- Grout brush or old toothbrush
- Glass cleaner for mirrors
- Mop or floor cloth
- Rubber gloves
Step 1: Apply Toilet Cleaner First
Start by applying toilet cleaner inside the bowl and letting it sit while you clean the rest of the bathroom. This gives the cleaner time to work on stains and bacteria.
Step 2: Clean the Shower and Bath
Spray the shower recess, tiles and bath with bathroom cleaner. Let it sit for a few minutes, then scrub with a sponge or cloth. Pay attention to grout lines where mould and soap scum build up. Rinse thoroughly.
Step 3: Clean the Vanity and Sink
Wipe down the vanity top, sink and taps. Use a cloth to remove toothpaste, soap and water marks. Polish taps with a dry cloth for a streak-free finish.
Step 4: Clean the Toilet
Scrub the toilet bowl with the toilet brush, then flush. Wipe down the seat, lid, outside of the bowl and the base with disinfectant. Don't forget the flush button and the area behind the toilet.
Step 5: Clean Mirrors and Glass
Spray glass cleaner on mirrors and wipe with a microfibre cloth in circular motions to avoid streaks. Clean any glass shower screens the same way.
Step 6: Mop the Floor
Sweep or vacuum the floor first to remove hair and dust, then mop with a suitable floor cleaner. Pay attention to corners and around the base of the toilet.
